La Sportiva Prodigio Pro Shoe
If the original Prodigio represented La Sportiva's entry into the world of higher-cushion, lightweight distance trail shoes, then the Prodigio Pro is their modern trail racer. Designed to tackle any distance with speed and responsiveness, the Prodigio Pro inherits the same underfoot stack height and heel-toe drop as the original Prodigio but utilizes lighter, higher-performance materials. A TPU core is embedded in the supercritical nitrogen-infused EVA midsole to offer increased responsiveness and energy return. With more spring in your step from this new midsole, Sportiva recognized the need for greater security and traction on the trails, which led to several upgrades. First, the midsole foam has been raised around the sides of the foot, forming a cage for additional stability in uneven terrain. Second, the outsole has been redesigned with Sportiva's proprietary Frixion White rubber for maximum grip in any condition. Third, the upper features a new power wire mesh, saving weight and providing a secure lockdown through a sock-like midfoot fit. Finally, a knit ankle collar prevents debris from entering the shoe and provides a comfortable fit around the ankle. Whether you want to run 100 miles or PR in a trail half-marathon, the Prodigio Pro is fast and comfortable in a great-looking lightweight package.
SkyRun Fit Tip - La Sportiva running shoes run small. We recommend sizing up one full Euro size from your measured size.

- Sticky Frixion White rubber features redesigned lugs for maximum grip in both wet and dry conditions.

- New outsole design wraps the metatarsal area for increased stability.

Questions & Reviews
I think you nailed it! If you have any fit questions once you receive the shoes, you can reach out to us through help@skimo.co!
Sizing: I am a "True to size" 11.0 US Men's. I wear a 45.5 EU/12.0 US in the Prodigio Pro. I wear a 11.5 US in the Norda 005. 11.0 in the Hoka Tecton X3 for reference.
Fit: They have a "miracle fit" that work for a wide variety of feet. I have a narrow, low volume foot and they work great for me but I have also fit others in them with wide feet and high insteps. I believe the comfortable sock tongue helps a lot with this.
Use: They excel at ascending and descending technical but runnable terrain. The cushion is extremely responsive in the forefoot as well as the heel. La Sportiva's white rubber is super grippy and the 4mm lugs are just right. The small sock around the ankle should be the new standard on all shoes- for both comfort and helping keep rocks and dust out.
Durability: I have put over 500 miles on one pair of Prodigio Pro's. I am not super hard on my gear but I have even scrambled a small amount in them.
I am US size 9 and have seen reports around the internet of people with my size running in a 42.5 or 43. I will be using these for short trail runs and skimo approaches (not ultras). Want to avoid toe bang but keep a snug fit. Do you think I should go 42.5 or 43?
Thanks!!!
I measure closer to US 9.5 than 9.0 and wear a 10.0, or 43.0 in Sportiva shoes. Most of my shoes from other brands are a US 9.5.
If you wear a US 9.0 in most of your footwear, I would suggest the 42.5 for the snug fit you're after.
Good question. All of La Sportiva's trail running shoes run small, but sizing is consistent throughout the line. Additionally, everybody here at the shop wears the same size in all of their running shoes. I think it's a safe bet to make a lateral move into the Pro!
Thanks for reaching out. We recommend going up one size from your recommended European size. A 42 should be a good fit!
These are very comfortable to hike in, there are others too. Fill out the form and we can better check to find the best fit and use.
While I can only speculate as to the sexual insecurity of American men, I'd agree that it's a shame we can't get the red color here! It is a European color and not available in the US at the moment.
I wear an 11 in running shoes typically — eg in the Nnormal Tomir 2.0. Planning on getting on these for my first 100k. What size would you recommend for me do you think?
You would likely do well in a 45, especially considering the distances in mind. If you'd like to discuss the sizing details further, send us an email at skyrun@skimo.co with some foot measurements. Thanks!
