Hi Miles, the 2 has a bit better glide, color-coded lines and snaps to hold the toggles. Plus I believe the new trimmers are only compatible with the 2. We just added a size chart with the weight ranges, the link is just above the Add to Cart button and Qty selection.

Hi, I would maybe lean slightly towards the 13 over the 12, but the 12.5 would be pretty spot on.

Mntmn- Unfortunately, There is a jump from 12.5 to 13.5 in all the Nnormal shoes.

Hi Aaron, I suspect this vest may be a bit small for something like UTMB, but depends on the exact required gear list. I would look for something closer to 15 liters or so. For sizing, are you a S european or US? The sizing doesn't exactly match up, I would tend to think you're a M/L. The XS/S is pretty small. There's a size chart above as well.
