Hi Adie, The Tomir is a medium width shoe overall, but the toe box is decently roomy. It is not as wide as an Altra toe box, but it sounds like you don't necessarily need that. It is definitely a more durable and protective shoe than the Mont Blanc, and it has that full sole you're looking for. It is definitely a firmer shoe, and it takes some break-in to get the midsole to feel good for running, but once it does it should last quite a while.
