Hi Adie, The Tomir is a medium width shoe overall, but the toe box is decently roomy. It is not as wide as an Altra toe box, but it sounds like you don't necessarily need that. It is definitely a more durable and protective shoe than the Mont Blanc, and it has that full sole you're looking for. Like Zak, this is my first pair of Hoka shoes. I've been very impressed with them. The highlight of the shoe for me is the midsole, which is soft and bouncy yet still protective and relatively stable. I think a lot of this feeling can be attributed to the dual layers of firmer foam closer to the ground and softer foam underfoot. I've now used every variety of Maurten drink mix, and I think it's my favorite liquid nutrition that I've tried so far. For those familiar with Maurten gels, these taste similar, just less concentrated. That is to say, they are not flavored - just a light syrup-y taste. These are really solid budget-friendly gels. Maurten are still my favorite, but these are much more affordable and easier to stock up on, and they pack a good punch. They definitely need to be taken with water, and can burn a little bit going down, but not bad. Totally worth it for the price. If price was not a factor, I'd give these 4/5. But price is a factor, so five stars.
