SCARPA Rapid Shoe
Built with versatility in mind, the SCARPA Rapid wears many hats. Looking to put in some trail miles on buff singletrack? Check. Looking to do a low fifth-class scramble? Check. Looking to do something that incorporates both running and scrambling? Even better. The Vibram® Megagrip outsole, edging zone under the toe, and Dynamic Protection Insert in the forefoot provide the confidence necessary to commit to technical terrain while the dual-density EVA midsole provides comfort when doing miles on groomed single track. The breathable mesh upper helps to move moisture out of the shoe while thermally welded PU is strategically placed for added durability. Built to do casual single-track miles one day to consequential ridge scrambles the next, the SCARPA Rapid is a versatile tool that can do it all.
SkyRun Fit Tip - SCARPA trail shoes are generally true to European size. We recommend sizing up by 1/2 of a US size if you don't know what your Euro size is.
- Vibram® Megagrip outsole provides confidence whether running or scrambling.
- SOCK-FIT LW combines a minimal stretch tongue with a stretch fabric upper, gently wrapping the foot while providing support.
- Dynamic Protection System helps protect the foot while providing structure to help with edging.
- PU and mesh upper offers durability and breathability.

Questions & Reviews
Looking for a shoe that is capable of running mixed in with a little 4th and low 5th class terrain.
The Scarpa Rapid is a running shoe that takes some influence from approach shoes (a little stiffer, sticky rubber, edging zone in the toe), whereas the Kima RT is a short to mid distance trail racing shoe with a full length carbon plate. So the Rapid would be the better scrambler/climber. The Kima is designed for running fast on trails, so while the outsole is sticky and you certainly could take it scrambling, I would choose it if you are looking for a fast running shoe first and foremost. If you're looking for more of a scrambler that can also run, the Rapid is the better option.
