Wow these shoes are fast! These shoes have a very road-shoe like feel to them- extremely comfortable, light and airy on the upper and a fast, springy, rockered ride for maximum propulsion. As a person who has spent a lot of time in road shoes I love the 8mm drop which is usually hard to come by in trail shoes. The rubber is also very nice and grippy and I don’t have any fears about traction.
The only downside to these is that they are a bit narrow under foot. That, paired with the higher stack height, and springy plate could lead to stability issues if you’re not cautious. However, if you’re looking for a super shoe to help you PR your next race, these are the shoe for you.
For sizing, I went up a half size from my street shoe size for a perfect fit.

I'll start by stating that I never owned the first version, so I can't compare side by side, just comparison based on what I've heard. I've worn these on a couple long runs, and immediately I felt like these were the shoes that my summer will probably revolve around. Very comfortable, the upper fits great on my foot, and I've had zero issues with hot spotting or anything digging into my foot. I love the razor tooth laces, they hug and hold perfectly. The midsole and the rods feel great, cushioned and stable enough to be great for long days, but propulsive enough to really feel like a strong super shoe. They really encourage that turnover to keep going later when you're feeling fatigued. Fantastic shoe!
