Salomon S/Lab Ultra Glide Shoe
The Ultra Glide has long been a staple in Salomon's trail-running lineup. Now, the design has evolved to become the S/Lab Ultra Glide, which takes center stage in Salomon's distance shoes. A newly engineered outsole with features akin to "divots" diffuses pressure and is paired with a dual-density midsole, providing greater stability and comfort. The stack height is a generous 41mm but feels remarkably stable due to the redesign and additional side protection. Of course, the Quicklace system remains efficient and features a nicely padded heel collar, which increases heel hold, and the 6mm drop with 3mm lugs is ideal for all-day (and night) turnover. The S/Lab Ultra Glide may have a familiar name, but that's all you'll recognize as its DNA comes from much heartier stock.
SkyRun Fit Tip - The S/Lab Ultra Glide fits true to US sizes. If you are between sizes, go 1/2 US size down. (All S/LAB products are listed in men's US sizes - Ladies, please choose 1 full size down)
- 41mm stack, 6mm drop, and humble 3mm lugs for go-all-day comfort and efficiency.
- Divets in the outsole diffuse pressure and give it a fun look that no one will notice.
- Contagrip Trail outsole for extra traction and durability.
- Fiery Red colorway looks fantastic and is probably faster.
- Generous cushioning and protection for lots of miles with lots of smiles.

Questions & Reviews
The only negatives (hence the 4 stars) are a little annoyance/pain at the high reinforced stability cup around my outside lower ankle bones, which I feel mostly when running on something off camber; and a little discomfort where the tongue sock seam around the forefoot is a little more noticeable than the similar construction of the Genesis, but has not caused any hot spots and seems to be getting better with use. These two issues do make me question whether they are an all day trail shoe for me. 3-4 hour runs have been fine, but I do feel those two issues.
The unique sole seems to work really well and I have not suffered from any lack of traction. I was a little worried by the fewer knobs and their relatively shortness, but sole wear is minimal so far and traction has been great.
I think the sizing is consistent with the S/Lab Ultra 3 and Genesis, which is to say, ever so slightly longer than some other manufacturers for the same size. But if you fit well in a 9.5 Genesis, we'd recommend the same in this shoe.
