My Running

Live in SW Colorado and run on mostly rocky technical trails, single track and mining roads. Currently running 3-5 trail races a year in the 10-20 mile range and heavy half formats with moderate elevation gain. Training often at 9,000 to 12,000 ft on peaks with talus fields. Working toward the Pike's Peak Ascent in the next year or 2.

My Gear

Currently training in La Sportiva Kaptivas until my last pair is completely worn out since the model is now discontinued. Have a new pair of La Sportiva Jackal 2 boas for races. Really like responsive trail shoes with lower stack height, 6mm heel drop, integrated tongue and a wide toe box. My heel and foot overall is narrow and I overpronate. For short distances I run with the Osprey Dyna 6 vest. For longer outings I wear the Nathan Pinnacle 12 liter pack.

I have put about 50 miles on these, and feel like they are a very specialized shoe. They work great for steep uphill and downhill trails with rocky features and hard packed dirt. However, I'd say these are too rigid to be a daily training shoe or a road-to-trail shoe. I thought the boa would provide maximum customization, but they have ended up being a constant agitation. Keep them too loose and you will twist your ankle (happened the first 2 times I wore them); crank them down too firm and they cut off cir...
I love crop bra tops for their snug support for running, but they are typically made with absorbant material that doesn't dry. This bra top is definitely a quickdry, moisture wicking powerhouse. The material is a little stiff, and the inner stitching is kind of scratchy at first, but I don't notice it once I start running. This top feels like a second skin; no sliding, rubbing or bunching and a very streamlined fit. I like the inner mesh cups for support for my B cup size, and the little perforations on the...
Part of my rotation of a few different running shorts. I like the crazy pattern and colors. There is a nice big zipper pocket on the back that is great for keys. The leg cut is a littler higher and leaves adequate room for steep uphill. I love the mid rise of the inseam and the reinforced stitching around the waist. The fabric is surprisingly thick and albeit a little warm. I haven't tried them in summer temps yet, but nice in 50 to 60 degree temps so far. My only critique is that the inner mesh brief is a ...

I wanted to like this bra, but it left something to be desired. The straps across the back sat a little to wide on my shoulders and slid around a lot, rather than positioning between my shoulder blades. The material is thinner than the product photos make it look, but the stitching throughout is a little stiff and scratchy. The scoop neck showed through all my usual running shirts and didnt lay flat. The stitching around the outside of the cup area also bunched oddly for my Bcup size. It's a pretty typical ...

I purchased these for my husband last year for trail running, and they have been his go-to gear for most temperatures in SW Colorado. Lightweight and breathable with a supportive internal brief. The pockets are adequate room for gels and keys. A simple and effective running staple.
