My Running

Live in SW Colorado and run on mostly rocky technical trails, single track and mining roads. Currently running 2-4 trail races a year in the 10-20 mile range and heavy half formats with 2,500 to 4,000 ft elevation gain. Training often at 9,000 to 12,000 ft on peaks, rocky mining roads, and chundery, hard-packed trails with all the vert in the first few miles. Current A Race for 2026 is the Imogen Pass run.

My Gear

Currently training in Dynafit Ultra 100 v2s until they fall apart while I research other shoe brands that fit narrow feet and high arches and instep. For short distances I run with the Osprey Dyna 6 vest. For longer outings I wear the Nathan Pinnacle 12 liter pack. Recently purchased the UD 30 liter running/fast pack for longer alpine outings. The best bra out there is the Salmon S/lab crop top for quick dry and support for smaller chests.

I purchased these for my Norda 001a shoes to get some more arch support for my high arches and narrow feet. After a few runs they work great. They didn't impact the volume of the shoe dramatically or change the fit. Easy to cut to fit. A tip for sizing: the brand's size chart does not specify that the shoe size range listed is a men's size. I originally ordered a medium and they were way too big. Dropping one size down was perfect, and Skyrun made the return easy peasy!
I'm still getting used to this shoe, but have a lot of good things to say after about 50 miles in them. I was wary about the hefty price tag at first since I was not able to try them on locally. However, this shoe fits suprisingly well on my narrow feet. The overal shape of the shoe is a refreshing deviation from most trail shoes. There is ample toe box space to splay, and the shape stays rounded rather than pointing or squaring off at the toes. The rubber/gum outsole for the traction and protection all the...
Hi! Any info on what Dynafit kept from version 2? I love the heel loader and midfoot lacing, but can't tell if they changed those. Looks like the foam got an upgrade though!
This shoe was so close to a perfect trail shoe for me, but could use an upgrade in durable materials and toebox shape. I typically wear size 8 in running shoes and went with an 8.5 to give a little more room for local trails with a lot of steeper descents. I think ultimately the size was right, but it is a little long and roomy in the toe box. The heel lock and midfoot design is fantastic for customizing to narrower feet! There is a very noticeable break-in that occurs at about 30 miles, where the heel shap...
Nnormals haven't previously fit me in the past being a unisex shoe, so I was so hopeful that a women specific fit would finally open this brand up for me. Alas, I think Nnormal needs a few years to dial in a female foot shape and functionality. The good things first: The tread of the outsole is stiff and rugged enough for most trails. Compared to the sleek, minimal feel of other Nnormal models, the Cadi will look and feel chunky and overbuilt, but I could see this being a plushy daily trainer that will get ...
