Salomon S/Lab Skyway Shoe
Enjoying time up high means something different to most athletes. For some, it's putting in a healthy amount of miles in mountainous terrain; for others, it's choosing the less traveled and more challenging routes to climb and fly back over. Salomon's S/Lab Skyway excels on rocky and uncertain terrains while attempting to reach a proper launch site. Takeoffs and landings in mountainous areas can be hard on gear, so the designers added a generous toe cap and additional protection in high-wear areas. Salomon's All Terrain Contagrip inspires confidence on wet, hard, and loose surfaces because "uncertain terrain" isn't anything to gamble with. Smearing edges on the toes are excellent for days when spicier routes are on the menu, and the 4mm lugs keep things efficient for miles of travel on trails. The Sensifit build and Active Chassis have stability for landings and increased agility for the climbs taken care of. Details on the upper weren't skimped on, to be sure. An integrated mesh lace cover keeps debris out and makes for a great-looking shoe, but it is also functionally imperative. Catching a branch when hiking is annoying but could be disastrous during a takeoff or landing. A unique Quicklacing pattern offers an even pull over the entire foot, which is downright comfortable, and the lace garage on the tongue stows the excess away nicely. If mountains and high places are the canvas, then the S/Lab Skyway is the palette to paint your next adventure.
