The Dynafit Alpine shoe is designed for the type of runner that has a hard time picking their favorite type of trail. The Alpine’s versatile, all rounder capabilities provide a buffet style approach to trail running which means there’s no need to pick a shoe designed for just one entree. Feast on packed trails, rocky paths, loose scree, steep singletrack, and whatever else the mountains can throw your way. The Vibram Megagrip lugs keep you megagripped on all surfaces so you can keep on chewing through miles. For a fluid and improved heel-to-toe motion, Dynafit included what they’re calling the Alpine Rocker in the midsole. The Dynafit Alpine trail running shoe allows you to taste the trail running good life.

SkyRun Fit Tip - For the Dynafit Alpine shoes we advise sizing up by one half to one whole US size for proper fit.

  • Seamless tongue creates a great fit that avoids potential hot spots.
  • Alpine rocker profile creates a smooth heel-to-toe motion to keep it easy on your body.
  • Vibram lugs hug the ground for incredible traction in all terrain.
  • Versatile all-around shoe will eat up whatever terrain you're covering.

Really like these so far after coming from a pair of Ultra 100's. I've been really impressed with the comfort and durability of Dynafit shoes and was excited to get into something with a little less cushion than the Ultra's.

Only thing I would advise is that they do run a little small (from my perspective). I'm a 10.5 almost regardless of brand (and was in the Ultra 100's) and would have probably gone up to an 11 in these if I were to do it again.

I'm a huge fan of the Alpine. I'm on a project to summit all of Colorado's 14,000' peaks this year, and have fallen in love with the Alpine after going through 4 different shoes. Saucony Peregrine, Saucony Endorphin, Sportiva's Bushido, some pair of Topos.. The Alpine is a winner for mid distance and technical terrain.

Fit is snug, as is consistent with Dynafits and La Sportiva. I'm an 11 in Saucony, 12 in Sportiva's Bushido, and went with a snug 11.5 in these. My toes gripe a bit on downhills, but the precise fit is stellar in 4th/low 5th class terrain.

Great protection underfoot, sticky soles, and a snug/secure fit, all in a shoe made to get beat up in the alpine. What more could you ask for.

These are my all daily drivers. I've used them for up to 25 mile trail runs, scrambly adventures, and as a go-to for easy runs and speed. The fit is pretty standard so long as you size up .5 - 1 size from your usual US size. Vibram sole is grippy without being overly aggressive. They're maybe not a mud shoe, but perfect for most trail surfaces.

Super durable. I've been able to get over 400 miles out of them, and they still look good but start to lose their cushion at this point.

Question from William Stewart

Is the sizing comparable to the Ultra 100?

Hey William, yes the sizing is quite comparable to the Ultra 100. I would just go with the same size. Let us know if you have any more questions!

Love this shoe. I have been using the Dynafit Alpine for the past couple of months on my shorter runs (up to 6 miles) and have found it to be awesome! For those people that run more than they bike (I am the inverse) I could see this being a great half marathon trail shoe as well. Grip going steep loose trail is great and the forefoot protection seems good on the rockier ones. For those days I am feeling fast I love how light they are but still give plenty of protection.

I did size up a 1/2 size from my "normal" shoe size and found that to work well for me. My only complaint is that the heel cup felt a little shallow when I first got them but after one run in them I found that it packed out well and I zero heel movement after or during that initial break-in run.

This shoe has worked quite well for me in a variety of conditions but have had a wee bit of trouble in a couple others. The fit out of the box is great, the laces stay tied and the shoe has a nice low profile lightweight feel. The sole has excellent grip, as advertised, and shines in specialized terrain. I felt they were fantastic while scrambling, had great toe hold while running down rocky trail, and are light and comfortable in mid length plus runs. When I recently happened upon mud they definitely showed their limitations but that isn’t what they are made for, and they don’t quite hold my heel in but am hoping they continue to settle into the cup. I admit to having a narrow heel and find they didn’t hold only while ascending steep terrain so YMMV. While I wouldn’t want to use these on especially long runs, I’ve found the Alpine to be an excellent choice on mid distance outings or when the terrain becomes more technical.
