The forefoot volume has also been reduced to provide a more precise fit for handling uneven and technical terrain. The lugs on the Continental rubber outsole have been lengthened by 0.5mm and reorganized to offer better traction across a wider variety of surfaces. The highly cushioned Lightstrike Pro midsole, acclaimed for its energy return, was one of the crown jewels of the original, and it has been further refined for this version to yield even more springiness and propulsion at less weight. This is supported by the TPE energy rods embedded in the midsole, which act as a spring, providing the shoe with stability and even more rebound.
