I have used Salomon advanced skin 12 packs exclusively for the past several years. I can tighten the pack such that there is no movement when running. They are extremely durable, and the position of all pockets works well to stash gels, keys, phone etc. The only imperfection for me is the difficulty in getting the soft flasks in and out while wearing the pack. If the front pockets are full of gels, I find I have to loosen the pack significantly in order to get full flasks in before re-tightening. I haven’t ...

I agree with the other reviewer that these spikes have been a game changer for my winter running. I previously used the hill sound trail crampons, but they were definitely overkill for standard winter foothill running. I’ve also used other brands that were extremely difficult to get on and off my shoes. These spikes are light, easy to take on and off, and just the right amount of traction to give you confidence on steeper terrain.

This filter works extremely well. I’ve had filters in the past that are extremely difficult and require a lot of force to push the water through. These allow water to pass easily. I always take one in my pack on long mountain days so I don’t have to carry so much water.

I absolutely love the consistency of these gels even though it was a bit of a surprise when I opened my first one and accidentally squirted it all over my face! They are very liquidy, but it makes it super easy to ingest the gel quickly. The taste is lightly sweet, and they contain electrolytes as well. I have tried multiple flavors and haven’t found one yet I don’t like. They are slightly different to open than other gels, but the smaller opening makes them easier to manage.

I struggle with the super sweet flavor of other gels, and the Maurten neutral flavor has always seemed acceptable at the end of a long day or race. I do find the consistency thicker than some other brands, but the texture prevents it from leaking or splattering when opening.
