Altra's Olympus shoes are well-cushioned, protected, and stable but can be rather weighty for big days or races. Enter the Olympus 275, Altra's answer for a higher stack, ultra-distance race shoe. While it retains the comfortable and stable ride of its namesake, the Olympus 275 adds a new, high-tech Matryx upper. Matryx is a premium upper material in the trail-racing world, with kevlar fibers woven into it for added durability and low-stretch properties. Adding Matryx to the Olympus cuts a significant amount of weight from the shoe, promises better performance for your faster runs, and improves the shoe's durability and resistance to tearing and abrasion. The new upper also includes a small stretch gaiter around the ankle to keep rocks and dirt from entering the shoe. The shoe is brought together with a TPEE insole for increased underfoot comfort and excellent support. For a durable and high-performance ride, look no further than the Olympus 275.

SkyRun Fit Tip - We have found the Olympus 275 to be true to size.

  • Matryx upper provides excellent durability and breathability while shedding weight.
  • Same well-loved outsole and midsole as the classic Olympus.
  • Ankle gaiter keeps debris out of your shoe.
  • Race-ready version of a classic Altra shoe.
  • Vibram Megagrip outsole delivers traction you can trust.

Researched these a bunch before purchasing. I have worn only Lone Peaks for 12+ years. These were an instant win. Absolutely love them. Wore them for both IMTUF and Javelina this year and they were great. I wish they had a gaiter attachment on the top. I attached in the back with Velcro and hooked the front lace, but there was still enough uncovered portion of the tongue that the desert sand and small rocks got in. That's my only complaint. Plan on buying another pair soon.
I run in these regularly as my go to trail shoe.
My Lone Peaks are getting lonely...

I just bought the Olympus 275 after running in the other Olympus's for years. They were fantastic. I would say the same for the other Olympus models. Key features I liked: kevlar upper, neoprene cuff, and 3oz lighter then my Olympus 6. I am sold on the Olympus sole and the 275 gives the upper a nice upgrade! I will recommend these to my trail running friends!
