Long time Salomon trail runner who for peak bagging reasons bought a pair of La Sportiva Mutants as well as SCARPA Ribelle Run Kalibra HTs. LOVED the BOA lacing system of the Scarpas but had issues with the course mesh of the shoe not protecting against Eastern Sierra sand (read my review). Really liked the Mutant but had fallen in love with the BOA on the Scarpa -- so purchased this pair of Jackal 2 BOAs.
The Jackal 2 BOA is a double system which is just the cat's meow. Being able to separately and ea...

Long time Salomon trail runner (Mission/XA/Genesis) who was looking for a slightly more technical shoe for peak bagging. Bought the SCARPA Ribelle Run Kalibra HT (see my review) as well as the Mutants at the same time to see which I liked better.

Decade long Salomon user (11.5 US, 46 in XA series/Mission/Genesis). Average width foot and thus Salomon's are always a bit tighter on the forefoot than I would consider perfect ... but almost perfect.
Have this shoe in 45. Works fine. I was looking for a pretty snug fit for heavy scrambling/peak bagging/approach and that's what I got. I can still do 20 miles, but if I were going for the 25 or more, I would go with the 46.
