This is an awesome shoe, and for the trails I do, it's maybe the best shoe I've ever used. I've liked Scarpa for awhile, partly because they fit my feet so well, and the Spin Ultra 2 is no different. It's as close to perfect for my somewhat wide forefoot, but also somewhat narrow heel. I get a secure lock down, using a runner's knot, which isn't always the case. But the main thing is, the upper is unusually comfortable on the top of my foot. I don't really know why, but even on a hot 22 mile run, it ju...

Given that this looks a lot like the Spin Planet, and the Spin Planet doesn't seem to be getting a new version for 2025, would you say this is maybe combination of the Planet and Ultra? Because I love the Planets, and only sort of liked the Ultra, so I'm hoping this is more like the Planet.

Have 50 miles on the shoes so far, and love them for short to medium distance training runs on hilly single track and fire roads (1-2K of vert), with some roots and rocks. On Jeremy’s advice, I bought my “normal” shoe size (US 9) and the Planets fit my somewhat wide midfoot perfectly. I get a good heel lockdown, with plenty of space—but not too much space--in the forefoot to accommodate my “un-tapered” toes (my pinky toes get squished if there’s not enough room). And for me, getting those things right i...
