Question from Nils A

Any thoughts on how this layer compares to the transalper Dynastretch (which has hand pockets)?

Also I’m curious what size you recommend. I’m 6’2” 175lb with long arms and a 106cm chest, 83cm hips.

Thanks so much!

Hi Nils, great question. Both are softshell jackets that use different fabrics, with a few other differences. The Traverse is lighter and has a trimmer fit. It has laser-perforation in key parts for better breathability, has a single chest pocket, and is 100% polyamide, which typically has better stretch and flexibility and is more comfortable. The Transalper uses a dual-fabric weave that is a bit thicker, which adds a touch of weight and abrasion resistance and makes it the warmer of the two. Additionally, it has two hand pockets and a mesh insert on the back for better breathability.

Tall and slender, you will fit best in a Large because of the additional sleeve length Thanks for reaching out.

Question from Harold S

Can you give me some sense of the sizing for this jacket? I’m 5’7” and 145# and thinking a small would be the best fit if worn over a thin base layer. Do you have any recommendations?

Harold,

Thanks for the question! At those dimensions the small is the way to go.
